VA Info Regarding Budget

Comments Off on VA Info Regarding Budget

What’s happening with the budget?

  1. VA has asked Congress to provide about $3 billion in additional funding for benefits for this fiscal year.
  2. This funding would prevent any delays in the compensation, pension, and education benefits payments that are scheduled for delivery on October 1, 2024.
  3. If there is going to be any impact on Veteran benefits, including delays, we will reach out directly to let you know – but rest assured, we’re working closely with Congress to ensure that we get these funds in time to prevent any delays in your benefits payments.
  4. We will keep you and all Veterans informed every step of the way.

What would be the impact of not getting the funding?

  1. If there is going to be any impact on Veteran benefits, including delays, we will reach out directly to let you know.
  2. But rest assured -- we’re working closely with Congress to ensure that we get these funds in time to prevent any delays in your benefits payments.

Why is this happening?

  1. VA is delivering more care and more benefits to more Veterans than ever before. In fact, we’ve outpaced even the most aggressive expectations for this year.
  2. Because of that, we need some additional funding to keep providing these benefits – and we’re working closely with Congress to get it.

Does the $3billion have any impact on my VA health care?

  1. This funding is only for benefits payments – there is no impact on VA health care.

What happens if there is a government shutdown?

  1. As we do every year, VA is working with Congress to ensure that there is no impact on Veteran care or benefits as we come to the end of the fiscal year. If there will be any impacts or your services whatsoever, we will reach out directly to let you know.
