MCL Seacoast Detachment Annual Picnic

Update – change of date and location.

Moved to Stratham Hill Park on Rte 33 in Stratham, NH and will be one week later on August 23rd.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

After spinning my wheels with the Navy for two months, we have two changes to our picnic. First, we have a date change to 23 August and a venue change to Stratham Hill Park. SHP is right on Rte 33 obviously in Stratham. There is plenty of parking and wide open area for games or baseball, restrooms, everything!!! 

If you want to come, great, just show up. No sign up lists, no vetting, no nothing so just show up. We welcome all!!

SHP is easy to get to. If you coming East on Rte. 101, take Exit 11 and at the bottom of the exit ramp, take a left. You are on Rte 33, stay on it right up to the Park. 

Coming up or down Rte 95, take Exit 3. Northbound, take a left at the end of ramp exit and stay on that road Rte 33. Southbound, again Exit 3 and when you get to the bottom of ramp, you are on Rte 33.

Our annual picnic this year will be on August 16 starting at 1200 to 1530 at Jamica Island at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Security at the Shipyard has given me strict instructions on how to gain entry and if they are not followed, you will not be allowed into the Shipyard.

1) You must send me the names of every person in your party that will be attending.

2) I must have that list completed and delivered to Security 3 weeks in advance of our date. You must send the names of your attendees to me and me only as there must be a tight hold on who is coming and that attendance input is best served by one person only. I must hand deliver attendance list to the Ship yard on 28 July to be vetted.

3) The name that’s on the list must be a 100% match to the name of every person’s  personal picture ID that has to be presented at Gate 1 for entry. Gate 1 is the only that will be open. If the match is not an exact match, the person will not be allowed to enter.

The government has raised the bar on all military installations and the Navy Yard is a top security post.

Please get all you attendees names to me as soon a possible.

There is no cost to anyone for our picnic. The Seacoast Detachment #394 will be picking up the tab so all we need from you guys is to be there.

If there are any specific food needs, please let me know.

Our menu is hot dogs, cheeseburgers, Italian mild sausage, baked beans, macaroni salad, Beer, wine (White and Red), soft drinks, water and deserts.
