Happy Birthday Marines
Marines of New Hampshire come and join the Department of New Hampshire Marine Corps League (DNHMCL) for our 250th Birthday. This year being an especially monumental year for our League, Corps and Nation. This celebration unites all Marines in every clime and place. For NH, we have partnered with Easterseals NH, and the festivities will be held at their new Military and Veteran Campus.
This new campus is New Hampshire’s first all-in-one space for service members, Veterans, and their families. The campus has been established to provide affordable housing, essential services, and outdoor recreation together in one supportive community. The partnership between the Marine Corps League and Easterseals is a great example of two organizations coming together to support Marine Corps Veterans and the continuance of our traditions. The campus has onsite hotel rooms that will be reserved for this event. The meal will be provided by a local restaurant “Alan’s of Boscawen”. Alan’s has supported the Dillon Detachment for many years and is now able to expand into supporting all Marines in NH at this event.
The cost of this event for Marine Corps League members plus one guest is $0. Marines who are not members will receive a similar benefit with a $50 refundable deposit. Other guests will be charged $50 per person. How can we offer this event at no cost to Marines, glad you asked! This event is made possible by the New Hampshire Charitable Gaming and the Revo Casino and Social House in Lebanon. A portion of the revenue from the games played at Revo Casino and Social House from 7/20-7/29/25 will be distributed to DNHMCL, a portion of said funds will be used to pay for our Birthday Celebration. Allowing ALL Marines to come and enjoy the Esprit de corps and fellowship as we honor the men and women who are serving today and those who served our country throughout the last 250 years!!

Mug and Coin Commemorative Set
Marines, to enhance the experience and memorialize this event, the Department has purchased 125 beer steins and coin sets. Purchased from the Marine Corps Association, the glass stein is printed with their exclusive 250th Birthday Ball design, featuring 250 stars encircled within the larger “250” to commemorate all the years of honor and service to the Corps. Additionally I added the updated department logo with the detachment names. To go with the mug, we are offering the challenge coin from the MCA, this helps ensure you don’t have to buy drinks, (the Department Commandant will be checking). The challenge coin tradition goes back to the Roman Empire and resurfaced in WWI when a captured lieutenant used his medallion to prove his unit identity. Just don’t be caught without a coin, or the night will be expensive. We may also have a wooden coaster with our logo, as one of our members is working on that now. This kit will be sold for $25.
Tintype Picture
Our Department Commandant attended a local fair and discovered a Tintype photographer, Troy Bennett of The Mystery Jig. Tintypes are made via the "wet plate collodion" photographic process, which was invented in 1851. It's the same process Matthew Brady used to make photographs of President Lincoln. Tintype pictures must be made on location, with a small portable darkroom or dark box. Usually, they're made with sunlight, but Troy has a set of powerful flashes that allow him to make them at night and indoors. While the picture is developed on site, Troy protects the photograph with lacquer and that is a 3-day curing process. So, the picture will need to be shipped. Normally, these 4x5 inch tintypes are $65 with $5 shipping. However, we are offering a pre-order price of $60 with free shipping. Shown below is our Commandant and his wife. Troy is able to make about 20 pictures during the planned time of the event, so sign up early, we are going to assign the times in 15 min intervals. Click the button to the right to pre-order.
Event made possible through the use of funds received from Charitable Gaming and the Revo Casino and Social House in Lebanon.
